I run six kinds of trips — all private or small-group, all guided by me personally. Eco tours follow the lakes, valleys and biosphere reserves at walking pace. Adventure trekking goes on foot into the high Tien Shan. Horse trekking crosses the summer pastures the way my family has always travelled them. Kyrgyzstan runs on a short mountain summer and a long winter, and each activity has its own window. Trekking peaks from July to early September; horse trips run June to September, while the jailoo camps are up; eco tours stretch from May to October depending on the destination; cultural tours are most comfortable in May–June and September–October; ski touring is January to early March. Why travel with a private local guide instead of a big operator?
Because you know who is responsible for your trip before you pay for it. The operators that dominate the search results are institutions — associations, destination offices and foreign brands — and not one of them sells a named guide. Here you deal with me: Kylych, born on Issyk-Kul, guiding the Tien Shan for more than 15 years. You message me directly on WhatsApp, I plan the route, I drive and guide it — and if weather or a washed-out road changes the plan, the decision happens in the car, not through a booking engine. A big operator sells you a package averaged over twelve strangers; an association passes your booking to a member office you never chose. How does booking work?
Send an inquiry — the form below or WhatsApp, whichever you prefer — with your dates, group size and what you want to do. I reply personally with a proposed program and a price for your specific trip. There are no fixed package prices on this site, because no two trips I run are identical: group size, season, route and comfort level all move the number. Once we agree on a program, I confirm the camps, horses and transport and send you the practical details. Nothing is locked until you say so. One timing note: for July and August, write at least a few weeks ahead — the good yurt camps and horses are spoken for early in high season.
What does a tour cost?
It depends on the trip — and I’d rather show you the market than invent a number. As published in July 2026, Kyrgyzstan tours range from roughly $25–60 per person per day through the community-tourism network, to $435–1,325 for local guaranteed-departure group tours, to $2,500–3,400 and up for 10–15 day trips with the big international brands. My trips sit in the informed middle: private, flexible and direct, priced per trip on inquiry.
